I've been a Chia Maxi for the past several months, and recently I was introduced to a Chia fork called the ABA Project. I started as a farmer like many of you, and farming videos on YouTube are still the most watched on my channel. I feel covering Chia forks are an important part of the Chia farming journey. This fork is created by big names in the Chia ecosphere, and whether you are interested in farming ABA or being a holder, it is definitely a project that the Chia community should be watching.
In this video, I will show you how I installed the ABA blockchain on Linux. I use Ubuntu Desktop.
FYI. I've used Windows my entire life and just started using Linux in the past few months to farm Chia and once you go Linux, you never go back to Windows for farming. I have little computer experience but Linux desktop along with chatGPT makes it an easy transition.
I'll be following the instructions on the ABA repository at the following link:
https://github.com/Aba-Network/aba-blockchain
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install python3
python3 --version
sudo apt update
sudo apt install git
git --version
git clone https://github.com/Aba-Network/aba-blockchain.git --recurse-submodules
Make sure your terminal prompt is in the aba-blockchain directory, for example you make need to change directories
cd aba-blockchain
sh install.sh
. ./activate
aba init
. ./install-gui.sh
You may need to change directories
cd ../ (if needed)
bash start-gui.sh &
